Yvan Attal’s thriller, “Un Coup de dé”, ranks at the top of last week’s entries while the comedy “Chasse gardee” continues to bring spectators to theaters in its sixth week.

Yvan Attal’s thriller, A roll of the diceplaced at the top of the entries from January 24 to 30 with 221,196 spectators, more than 130,000 spectators more than his previous production, Les Choses humaine, released in December 2021.

Led by Yvan Attal, Maïwenn, Guillaume Canet and Marie-Josée Croze, the film follows Mathieu, Vincent and their companions. Mathieu’s loyalty is tested when he discovers that Vincent is cheating on his wife. When Vincent’s mistress is found dead, suspicion settles in the hearts of both couples.

In the running for 11 Oscars, Poor Creatures by Yórgos Lánthimos loses one place in the ranking compared to the previous week. The film starring Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo and Willem Dafoe recorded 130,129 admissions for a cumulative total of 316,697 admissions in the second week.

May December by Todd Haynes brought 118,770 spectators to theaters for its first week. The feature film starring Natalie Portman, Julianne Moore and Charles Melton is inspired by the Mary Kay Letourneau affair, which occurred in 1997 in the United States.

The latter was an American teacher who, when she was 34 years old, became pregnant by one of her twelve-year-old students, Vili Fualaau. She was sentenced to six months in prison (three of which were suspended) and three years of treatment for sexual offenses.

French comedy Preserve – of which a sequel has already been announced – is placed in fourth position with 107,715 additional admissions in the sixth week. The film led by Didier Bourdon, Hakim Jemili, Camille Lou and Chantal Ladesou has accumulated 1.67 million admissions in French cinemas.
