Un cloud from the Sahara arrived this Sunday above France. This hot wind carries sand, which can in some places tint the sky with an orange color. The effects of this wind will be felt mainly in Aquitaine and the Pyrenees, notes BFMTV. The cars could therefore have an orange film also on the bodywork. This phenomenon has already been seen several times this year and in 2021.

But, for this to be really visible, it will have to rain “to bring the sand down on the ground. Monday in the west and Tuesday in the east, with the outbreak of stormy showers from Spain to the Channel coasts, deposits of sand on the ground can be observed, especially on cars, ”explains the Weather Channel.

Record heat to come?

This cloud, which passed through Spain, should sweep France until Tuesday, before continuing on its way towards Germany. “This southerly wind is bringing a remarkable heat event to the southwest. (…) After a slight drop in mercury on Monday linked to stormy showers, the heat will return next Tuesday and Wednesday in the southwest with nearly 30° C expected. We will be at the record level for mid-October. In the rest of the country, temperatures will also reach very high levels, between 22 and 26° C on average, a level in mid-June,” the meteorology site also explains.
