Assassin’s Creed has a series of new games but fans are only waiting for one thing, a sequel to this excellent episode. And they are not the only ones to hope, major players are also making their voices heard.
The Assassin’s Creed license is certainly one of Ubisoft’s most iconic, if not the most emblematic. However, it is not the oldest license and it has not only had excellent games. If everything started very strong, Ubi pulled the string a little too much at the rate of one game per year to the point of overloading the players and losing quality. This is where the company decided to completely review its formula and start again on new bases, thus giving birth to one of the best games in the license, Assassin’s Creed Origins.
A sequel to Assassin’s Creed Origins? Everyone wants some!
As its name suggests, Origins returns to the events which led to the creation of the famous Assassins’ guild that we discovered with Altaïr and Desmond. In AC Origins, we follow Bayek and Aya, two now iconic characters of the franchise. A couple of fighters who must face a terrible event in addition to confronting the rise of an organization with dark designs which turns out to be on the verge of sinking the country into total chaos, if that is not already done anyway. Beautiful to tears, not to say splendid and gripping from start to finish, Assassin’s Creed Origins is a must-have of the license and its ending, which is not one at all, leaves the way open to a whole bunch of things , to the entire license obviously, but also to a direct sequel.
And fans want this sequel so ardently that a petition (again) is currently being shared on social networks to bring the idea to the ears of Ubisoft. Bayek and Aya would have a lot to show us and the two heroes are super important for the entire license in addition to being terribly charismatic and endearing. Fans want to know what happens after Assassin’s Creed Origins and they are not the only ones since two very important personalities who worked on the game are also very excited by the idea: Abubakar Salim and Alix Reagan, respectively Bayek and Aya in the game.
Even veterans of the original game are hot!
While Abubakar Salim is preparing to soon release his Tales of Kenzera: Zau, a metroidvania inspired by African culture, the latter returned to his work on Assassin’s Creed Origins in the columns of Den of Geek where he affirms that for him it’s as if his experience is unfinished, particularly because of Origins’ relatively open ending.
On social networks, Salim even had fun saying that he should perhaps make the sequel to AC Origins himself… to which Alix, his accomplice, responded positively. The latter even shared the petition which is currently circulating on the web.
Everyone is extremely motivated for a sequel, everyone except Ubisoft which, for the moment, is preparing plenty of other projects. Some are already official, like Assassin’s Creed Red, the next big game in the franchise which will take us to Japan, but also the mobile game AC Jade, which could well be delayed or even Hex announced as the darkest game ever created for the license. Other games are also the subject of growing rumors, including a potential remake of Black Flag. Maybe Ubisoft will eventually have room for a small sequel to AC Origins or maybe one will never see the light of day.
