The cult film released in 1987, Dirty Dancing has marked an entire generation and continues to fascinate even today. So much so that a second component had been launched in 2004 but had not met with the desired success. Lately the site Deadline revealed that a new dance film is in the works, produced by Lionsgate and lead actress Jennifer Gray. Nothing is sure because the details of the scenario have not yet been released. However, some rumors suggest that a series of Dirty Dancing would be possible.

If Jennifer Gray is a producer on this mysterious project, it would seem that she is also an actress. This is why everything suggests that it would indeed be a suite. The lack of information therefore leaves the hope that Baby would be back on our cinema screens. It remains to be seen whether this will be confirmed by Lionsgate which has the distribution rights for the very first part of the cult film. In addition, concerning this mysterious dance film project, it will be produced by Jonathan Levine and Gillian Bohrer. It will also be written by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Laconis.

Dirty Dancing is still considered a cult film today. It was a great success when it was released in 1987 and won the Golden Globes and the Oscar for best original song. If the film is therefore essential, it was also a success thanks to the character of Johnny who, at the time, was interpreted by the very late Patrick Swayze. Died in 2009, for many fans it remains difficult to imagine a new film Dirty Dancing without the actor. But for the moment, no official announcement has been made regarding the project developed by Jennifer Gray and Lionsgate.
