Alongside the Yoga Slim 9i, Yoga 7 Pro X and the sleek Yoga AIO 7 all-in-one PC, Lenovo unveiled its Slim 7i Carbon. With this new ultraportablethe Chinese manufacturer combines a 2.5K / 90 Hz panel and an Alder Lake-P chip in a chassis that weighs barely 1 kg.

A compact size of 300.9 x 206 x 14.8 mm, for only 967 grams on the scale and a top-flight technical sheet: this is the promise of the new Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon, expected in June on the French market , from 1,199 euros.

QHD+, 90Hz, Alder Lake-P and Flyweight

The device has a very fresh configuration thanks to Intel Alder Lake-P processors, but it also relies on good display quality with a QHD+ IPS panel (2,560 by 1,600 pixels) in 16 format: 10. This 13.3-inch panel (touch or not, depending on the options) can go up to 90 Hz to provide additional comfort compared to conventional 60 Hz screens.

Depending on the model chosen, the Yoga Slim 7i can carry a Core i5-1240P or a Core i7-1260P (in 28 W in both cases), coupled with a maximum of 32 GB of LPDDR5 (4,800 MHz). There will also be up to 1 TB of M.2 NVMe SSD storage. The set will be powered by a relatively modest 50 Wh battery. Lenovo nevertheless promises more than 10 hours of battery life.

A poor connection

Among the disappointments, because unfortunately there are a few, note the presence of a USB-C 3.2 port and a Thunderbolt 4 port only… Nothing else. No headphone jack in sight if we are to believe the documents Lenovo sent us. In addition to this very succinct connection, there is also a simple 720p webcam, while most of the Yoga 2022 range has moved to 1080p cameras.

A priori, however, we should take advantage of facial recognition here via Windows Hello. Lenovo also speaks of a fast recharge allowing to recover three hours of autonomy in only 15 minutes on sector. We will probably have the opportunity to check all this in test on Clubic.
