A news feed spammed with posts sent to celebrities for several hours
If you’re used to starting your day by frantically scrolling through your Facebook news feed, you couldn’t escape those many weird posts that replaced photos, comments and posts from your friends or loved ones.
For several hours, the home page was indeed invaded by short publications sent to celebrities with an account on the platform and shared with all of their subscribers.
We can confirm the extent of the bug here, with a newsfeed filled exclusively with such posts, only interspersed with a few advertisements that seem to have weathered the bug quite well.
A curious and still unexplained bug by Meta
Neither one nor two, many teasing users could not help but share some well-felt memes with the artists they usually follow on the social network, knowing full well that their content would be massively shared during the outage.
Others preferred to use the bug to mass spam links to PayPal pools or promote different cryptocurrencies.

It now remains to understand what are the reasons that led to such a situation at Facebook, even temporary. For the time being, Meta’s representatives are very silent and do not comment on the incident, even if everything suggests that the problem could come from a maintenance operation carried out in the middle of the night by the company’s American teams and which got stuck.
Facebook’s status page doesn’t even mention the bug, which is now history. We will have to wait a few more hours, perhaps, to find out more.
