Online banking: BoursoBank panics the counters

With 457,000 new customers acquired in the first quarter of 2024, BoursoBank now has 6.3 million customers at the end of March 2024. Growth that allows the online bank to continue targeting more than 8 million customers in 2026.

With 457,000 additional new customers in the first quarter of 2024 (+54% year-on-year, compared to the 1st quarter of 2023), BoursoBank now has 6.3 million customers at the end of March 2024, representing growth of 28.5% over one year. BoursoBank’s pace of growth is perfectly in line with the objective of reaching more than 8 million customers in 2026, the online bank said in a press release.

New BoursoBank customers are mainly young (nearly half of new customers are under 25 years old and one in 5 French people under 25 are BoursoBank customers). Even more important for online banking, this growth is accompanied growing customer engagement across the entire range everyday banking products, insurance, credits, stock market, savings, and good deals, informs the establishment.

BoursoBank, increasingly a main bank

In detail, BoursoBank reveals that in daily banking, the number of card transactions amounted to 202 million over the quarter, up 22% year-on-year. Customers completed an average of more than 16 transactions per month in the first quarter of 2024 with their bank cards. For the establishment, this data shows the use of BoursoBank as its main bank, even though many clients are recent.

BoursoBank delivered a first quarter of 2024 perfectly in line with its new business plan which targets more than 8 million customers and 300 million euros in net income in 2026. BoursoBank had more than 6.3 million customers and more than 76 billion euros in assets under management at the end of March, thus demonstrating its ability to become the main bank for its customers, particularly customers under 25 who represent nearly half of the total. 457,000 new customers acquired over the quarter, welcomes Benot Grisoni, general director of BoursoBank.
