We thought we would have the complete list of additions for Xbox Game Pass in January 2024, but that was without counting a little last minute surprise.
Xbox Game Pass is one of the most interesting offers that can be found in the video game sphere. For only around ten euros, you can access a catalog of varied games, which is renewed every month. Besides, we know the names of the additions that will punctuate the month of January. All ? Well, that’s what we thought until today. We have just learned that a new game was going to enter the ranks of Microsoft’s service. If you like Pokemon, don’t miss it.
Palworld is coming to Xbox Game Pass
This is Palworld, a title announced in 2022 and which you may have heard of. For good reason, it has often been compared to the Game Freak franchise. The concept is simple, it’s an RPG in which you can capture hundreds of monsters called “Pals”. It’s not the one and only mechanic, but it was enough to create the comparison. There is still an important difference to note, and it lies in his nickname. In fact, they say it’s “Pokemon, but with guns”. An interesting proposition for Xbox Game Pass.
Additionally, you can also build bases, fight bosses, assign your “Pals” to your production chains, etc. But what especially catches the eye of the most curious is the fact that it is an open world in which you can find yourself with 32 players on the same server. We can easily imagine the chaos this could cause. In any case, it will surely be worth looking into it quickly, especially since it will be “free” for Xbox Game Pass owners.
As for the release date, it is set for January 19, 2024. Palworld will arrive on PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. From what we could understand from the latest trailer, it will land day one on Game Pass, whether on PC or consoles. We therefore advise you not to miss the opportunity to make a fairly distant cousin of Pokemon. Furthermore, please note that it will be in early access for at least a year, and not deployed in final version.
