PlayStation has just revealed a new feature that will arrive later this year. And you will see, it will be very useful.
The PS5 has evolved a lot since its launch in 2020. It has received numerous updates which have added expected features. But after all these years, does Sony still have the means to surprise us with a big new thing? The answer is yes, and we have just had confirmation. This year, the console will benefit from a new addition which will greatly help some players when they are playing certain games.
A very useful feature is coming to PS5
In truth, we are more dealing with the improvement of a functionality already existing on the PS5: Game Help. For those at the back, a little reminder is in order. It offers players advice, clues or videos to help them move forward in a game if they are stuck. There are even tips for obtaining trophies or well-hidden objects. This is very useful, especially for completionists who absolutely want to get a complete tour of the games they own.
But then, what will change? PlayStation has introduced us to Community Game Support, which will arrive later this year. The principle remains the same, with one difference. It will inflate the content of the tips library with videos automatically generated from gameplay captures of PS5 players. If they chose to contribute, of course. It will be accessible to everyone, regardless of whether you have PS Plus or not. This is excellent news, although not all games will necessarily be compatible with it.
This is all well and good, but how do you access it on PS5? If you are familiar with Game Help, know that it is a relatively similar procedure. Just press the PS key and open the control center when you are in trouble. You must then look for an action card that displays the “Clues” icon. You will then find two types of advice. Those from developers, provided for compatible games, and those marked “Community Game Help”. You can, for example, observe the gameplay sequences of other players to find the solution.
Do you want to make your contribution on D-Day? In this case, you will first need to go to the settings of your PS5. Then, go to the “Captures and broadcasts” section. Tap “Captures” then “Automatic Captures”. This is where the Community Game Help feature will appear, which will automatically capture video based on what you do in a game.
