We obviously knew the emoluments of Robert Kotick, CEO of Activision-Blizzard, but did you know that he actually earns more than half as much as Robert Antokol, CEO of Playtika, an Israeli company specializing in game simulations of mobile casino and poker? In 2020, the latter would have pocketed more than 372 million dollars, far ahead of Robert Kotick’s 154 million. On the third step of the podium, we find the aptly named Andrew Paradise, CEO of Skillz, and his 103 million annual dollars. Note that the “worst” paid CEO of this ranking is none other than Lars Wingefors, at the head of Embracer Group all the same. In total, the total compensation of these 42 CEOs represents more than 842 million dollars for the year 2020. You can find the entire ranking established by Gamesone on the company’s website
This study also looks at the median salaries practiced in a few large companies in the sector. We thus learn that, at Electronic Arts, it was 124,000 dollars – against 34.7 million for its CEO Andrew Wilson. At Activision Blizzard, the median income was, still in the same year, $99,100, while its CEO pocketed his annual $154 million. The lowest median income among those of the actors quoted in this study is that of employees of the Gamestop group – to which Micromania belongs – with 11,000 dollars, a straw, while George E. Sherman, the boss of the group, pocketed 7.6 million dollars that year.
