“A test”: Albert II of Monaco confides as rarely on Charlene’s recent health problems

In an interview with the JDD on Sunday June 5, 2022, Prince Albert II of Monaco spoke about the health problems his wife Charlene has had to face in recent months.

Withdrawn in recent months due to a long period of convalescence, Princess Charlene of Monaco recently returned to the limelight alongside his family. The former swimming champion has attended several public events in recent weeks, where she was accompanied by Prince Albert II, but also by her children, Jacques and Gabriella. As a reminder, Princess Charlene had to deal with health issues, following a trip to his native South Africa, for the purposes of his foundation, more than a year ago. While she was only supposed to stay a few days there, the stay of the wife of Prince Albert II was forcibly extended.

Indeed, the doctors forbade him to take the plane to return to Monaco, after having diagnosed him with an inflammation of the ENT sphere. Operated on the spot under general anesthesia, Princess Charlene was forced to stay for long weeks in South Africa, far from her family. Although she was finally allowed to return to the Rock, his state of health was still worrying. She thus had to withdraw far from Monaco during her convalescence, which did not fail to fuel rumors about a possible separation with Prince Albert II. Rather discreet on the subject, the Monegasque sovereign confided in his wife’s health like never before in the columns of JDD Sunday, June 5, 2022.

Albert II of Monaco: “We missed the princess a lot”

It was a test! A test for my wife especially, who suffered a lot and lived through difficult times, far from her family. A test also for our children and for myself. We miss the princess a lot. And we were obviously hurt by the malicious rumors that were peddled. But we were able to stay united despite the distancewe talked a lot“, said Prince Albert II. “Today, Charlène is back with us and that’s the best thing that could have happened. She’s better, we can finally spend time together. It’s a relief and a joy for all of us“, finally concluded the father of the twins Jacques and Gabriella.
