Blue Sky loses Jack Dorsey, its loudest name and the public face of the platform. The circumstances of his departure are still unclear.
Jack Dorsey is no longer involved with the Bluesky Project. Asked about X (formerly Twitter), he responded tersely ” No “ to a user asking if he was still on the Bluesky board.
Bluesky is looking for a replacement
A few hours later, the social network officially reacted. “We sincerely thank Jack for his help in funding and launching the Bluesky project. Today, Bluesky thrives as an open source social network running on atproto, the decentralized protocol we built”published the official account on its own service.
In the process, Bluesky took the opportunity to let it be known that the organization was now looking for a replacement for Jack Dorsey. “With Jack’s departure, we are looking for a new board member at the Bluesky utility company, who shares our commitment to creating a social network that puts people in control of their experience”we can read.
It is not specified when Jack Dorsey actually left Bluesky. He wasn’t very involved in the project and had even deleted his Bluesky account several months ago.
