A thousand strikers at Disneyland Paris to obtain salary increases

A thousand employees of different professions of the Disneyland Paris park went on strike on Tuesday, May 30, to demand in particular a salary increase. Faced with inflation, the strikers demand “200 euros salary increase, Sunday work paid double, the revaluation of mileage allowances and the cessation of chosen adapted hours”.

Supported by the CGT, the UNSA or the CNT-SO, “at least 1,000 employees of all trades, such as entertainment, maintenance or security walked off Tuesday morning”, said the secretary general of the CGT Disney, Fabien Beiersdorff. Management has counted “954” strikers out of 17,000 employees.

Several disrupted shows

Several shows as well as the parade were disrupted, according to the CGT. “The ball is in the management’s court because the employees are planning a new day of action on Saturday”assures Mr. Beiersdorff.

After a strike action last week, the management received the trade unions on Friday, offering them “the payment of a bonus of 125 euros, the possibility of monetizing rest days as well as overtime and the monthly payment of part of the 13e month “, explained a spokesperson for Disneyland Paris. Between 2022 and 2023, “there was a 9% salary increase for 82% of employees”added the management.
