The latest update to Google’s Pixel Watch has triggered an annoying bug that impacts the use of the watch. Notifications received on the latter are affected.
As a user of a smartwatch like the Pixel Watch, you know how convenient it can be to receive notifications from your phone directly to your wrist. You also know that it can quickly become invasive, so you took the trouble to configure which applications can send them or not. Google recently deployed version 1.4 of thePixel Watch app. For example, it adds the possibility of link the watch to a Google account. But it introduces a bug quite painful that you may have noticed.
THE preferences for receiving notifications have been reset. So don’t be surprised if you receive one from an app that you were sure had made it “mute”. For now, you’ll have to reconfigure everything again. It seems that only those coming from phone apps are concerned. Unfortunately, the problem doesn’t end there.
Pixel Watch update 1.4 overrides your app notification preferences
Even if you take the time to set up notifications again, you will see that the changes are canceled very quickly afterwards. For now, we don’t know if this is really a cancellation, or the Pixel Watch app incorrectly displays the position that the cursors are supposed to have. In the latter case, this would at least make it possible to no longer be bothered by unsolicited alerts.

In the current state, the safest thing is to not updating to version 1.4 of the Pixel Watch app. You risk nothing by delaying it, it does not correct any critical or other security vulnerability. If you have already done this, there is no solution other than wait until a fix is deployed. Since the bug is very annoying, it shouldn’t take long.
