An institute practicing abortions in Rouen is the victim of malicious acts, including the hacking of its website. A consequence of the upcoming inclusion of voluntary termination of pregnancy in the Constitution.

After the vote of deputies at the end of January, the Senate, in turn, approved on Wednesday February 28 the bill aimed at including the freedom of women to resort to voluntary termination of pregnancy, abortion, in our Constitution. The final step, which will take place on March 4, 2024 with the vote of Congress, should be a formality. However, some opponents of abortion are causing disruption, including certain structures which welcome women wanting to have an abortion.

Fake appointments made online to saturate the abortion center’s calendar

This is what is happening at the Simone Veil Medical Institute. For many months, the structure located in Rouen, in Normandy, has been the victim of malicious acts, the origin of which is beyond doubt. The establishment is subject to repeated actions by anti-abortion activists.

The institute, which is also the only center entirely dedicated to the care of abortion in France, was, for example, to receive a visit from Élisabeth Borne last September, as Prime Minister. The tag ” Borne, your mother should have aborted you » had then spoiled and ruined the trip.

Online, the center also experiences disruptions. For example, individuals block appointments which are obviously not honored, and which have the sole aim of saturating the establishment’s agenda. If Marianne Lainé, the founder of the latter, manages to identify the troublemakers, they change their name and return to the attack.

The center’s website hacked

The malicious acts do not stop there. At the beginning of February, the Simone Veil Medical Institute was the victim of a computer hack. More precisely, the hackers attacked the establishment’s website, so that its visitors came across an image of pornography rather than the traditional home page.

And this time, it was too much. The founder of the center filed a complaint, especially since the malicious acts have direct consequences on her activity. Nevertheless, its imperative mission takes precedence, and the institute always manages to receive its patients.
