A wasp invites itself into his glass of wine, the barbecue turns into a nightmare


Because of a wasp sting on her tongue, this retiree almost experienced the worst. On August 12, 2022, late in the evening, she takes the sip of wine that nearly killed her.

Jeni Boothman, 73, has almost lost his life. She and husband Tony, 82, went to a barbecue on a neighbor’s Bowland Bridge property, in the Lake District Valley. According to Jeni, Head of School in Cumbria, the event of August 12, 2022 was a beautiful evening. But everything turns sour when she takes a sip of Red wine late in the evening. Jeni Boothman took the sip of wine who almost got the better of his life around 9:30 p.m., reports metro.co.uk.

The 73-year-old pensioner had her tongue bitten by a naughty wasp that she couldn’t notice since it was dark. “I spat out the wine and felt a searing pain on my tongue, who swelled. I had trouble breathing because it was blocking my airways, I was sick and it blocked my nose“, she said. They immediately called the emergency room, paramedics arrive on scene within 25 minutes. The pensioner was immediately given three doses of adrenaline before being taken to hospital where he was put on a potassium infusion.

Her tongue stays swollen for 4 days

I think we didn’t realize the seriousness of the situation. The doctors at the hospital told me that I had been very lucky“, she said. She was really lucky seeing that even after he was given steroidshis tongue remained swollen for four days after the sting. Despite his anaphylactic shock and his two days of hospitalization, Jeni still got away with it.
