A young French influencer rejected from Dubai for his alleged homosexuality

“They came to tell me that I was homosexual and that I was not welcome”. Ibrahim Godin does not take off. To our colleagues from The Republican Eastthe influencer from Haute-Saône, left with a colleague, Quentin Skyz, for a stay in Dubai explains that he was rejected by the authorities, suspected of being gay and in a relationship.

“Immediately, I was put aside in a room. They first explained to me that there was a passport problem,” explains the young man. After six hours of waiting, he is told that he must return to France. “It was someone who works for the immigration services who told me that they were convinced that we were a gay couple and that they could not let us enter together”. Homosexuality is indeed a crime in the United Arab Emirates.

Contacted by The Republican East, the UAE Embassy in France, did not respond. Just like the Quai d’Orsay. We can just read on the website of the French consulate in Dubai that “sometimes French nationals are thus turned back on their arrival in the United Arab Emirates”. Ibrahim Godin will file a complaint against X.
