A13, Fernpass and Co. – vacation ends with traffic jams: car avalanches through Tyrol!

The long weekend and above all the end of the Pentecost holidays for our German neighbors are clearly noticeable on the local streets on Sunday. Especially in Tyrol. Huge traffic avalanches are rolling in, especially from Italy. Already in the morning there were longer traffic jams and delays.

For example, the traffic jam on the A12 Inntal autobahn in front of the Kufstein-Kiefersfelden border crossing also caused the B171 Tiroler Straße and the B173 Eiberg Straße to be blocked. “There is still a lot to come from South Tyrol,” said ÖAMTC traffic expert Harald Lasser, outlining the flow of travel late on Sunday morning. We expect that there will also be delays on the A13 in the next few hours, for example in front of the Schönberg toll station,” says Lasser The border tunnel in Füssen and the Lermooser tunnel was handled in blocks, as was the case in front of the Brettfall tunnel in the course of the Zillertalstraße (B169). Traffic on the Tauern Autobahn (A10) also became increasingly heavy on Sunday morning. In the direction of Germany, there was block handling in front of the Katschberg tunnel, traffic jams between Hüttau and Werfen and subsequently also in front of the border crossing at Walserberg, according to the ÖAMTC.
