Assault trial continues in 2024

A$AP Rocky will be back in court in the new year: the trial in which he is charged with assault continues in January.
During the argument, he is said to have pointed a gun at a former rapper friend and fired: It is now clear that the trial of A$AP Rocky (35) will continue in court. As the US magazine “People” reports, after a preliminary hearing on Monday (November 20th), a judge decided that there was enough evidence that the partner of singer Rihanna (35) attacked the other rapper with a gun . A$AP Rocky is scheduled to appear in court again in January 2024.
A$AP Rocky’s lawyer is optimistic
The lawyer for the accused rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was optimistic in front of the courthouse: “I’m sure Rocky will be acquitted in all of this,” People quotes. The trial begins on January 8, 2024.
At the hearing on Monday, the detective in charge, among others, took the stand. Another surveillance video was also presented in which two loud bangs can be heard. These can be attributed to the shooting, but the shots cannot be seen in the video, it is said.
The detective confirmed that he reviewed the footage in his investigation and that Rocky had a gun in his hand during the argument. However, the police officer stated during interrogation that the weapon was never found and that the shell casings recovered from A$AP Relli – the attacked rapper – which he handed over to the police had no fingerprints. However, photos were shown at a previous hearing showing minor injuries to Relli’s hand.
Lawsuit against A$AP Rocky: This is what happened
A$AP Rocky was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on April 20, 2022, just weeks before the birth of his first child with Rihanna. The couple had arrived from Barbados on a private plane. The musician was later released on $550,000 bail.
The alleged shooting occurred on November 6, 2021, as “People” also reported at the time. After a “heated discussion in Hollywood” and the “ensuing confrontation,” Rocky is said to have fired twice in the direction of the victim, who was said to have sustained minor injuries in the incident.
