Will Aaron Taylor-Johnson be the new James Bond? According to “The Sun”, the “Kick-Ass” star has received an official offer.
Is the race to succeed Daniel Craig (56) over? If you believe “The Sun”, you can answer this question with “yes”. Aaron Taylor-Johnson (33) is said to be have received an official offer to become the new James Bond, according to the British tabloid. “The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting for a response,” an unnamed insider told The Sun about production company Eon. And further: “As for Eon, Aaron will sign his contract in the next few days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”
Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been the clear favorite for the role of 007 for some time. At various bookmakers The Englishman is clearly ahead. Taylor-Johnson is said to have convinced Bond producer Barbara Broccoli at a casting as early as November 2022. “The Sun” also reported this at the time.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson definitely fits into Broccoli’s age range. Rumor has it that the next Bond actor will be someone in his thirties. The current favorites are Henry Cavill (40), Damon Idris (32), James Norton (38) and Rege-Jean Page (35).

Aaron Taylor-Johnson celebrated his breakthrough in 2009 with “Nowhere Boy”. In it he played the future Beatle John Lennon (1940-1980) at a young age. The film also had private consequences for the actor. He got together with director Sam Taylor-Johnson (57), and their love made headlines because of the age difference. The couple now has two daughters together.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson finally became a star in 2010 with his role as the title character in the comic film adaptation “Kick-Ass”. In 2016, he won a Golden Globe for his supporting role as a brutal killer in “Nocturnal Animals.”
Aaron Taylor-Johnson has a big role coming up this year. He plays the main role in “Kraven the Hunter”. The film from Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (“Venom”, “Morbius”) is scheduled to hit theaters on August 30, 2024. If “Kraven the Hunter” goes into series, this could definitely collide with a Bond involvement.
