  • Dario Cologna will not contest the final two races of the Tour de Ski in Val di Fiemme.
  • The best classification of the Bündner on this year’s tour was a 15th place over 15 km skating in Oberstdorf.
  • For the 35-year-old Cologna it was the last Tour de Ski. He will step down at the end of the season.

“The big goal for me this season remains the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. The strong dry cough increased again this year during the tour, which hindered a good regeneration process. In addition, in terms of performance, a few percent are still missing at the moment. I think that I can close this gap better with the early regeneration and the incorporation of targeted training than with two other tough competitions on the Tour de Ski ”, said Dario Cologna about his decision.
