For more than a year, Khouloud has been looking for his children. The two little boys, now aged four and two and a half years, were kidnapped by their father on October 2, 2022. Victim of domestic violence, the young woman was left unconscious by her husband at the family home in Toulon. That’s when the man took the opportunity to take the couple’s two young children and flee to Portugal. “When he left, the little one was a year and a half and the older one was two and a half. My husband hit me. Afterwards, he wanted children and went to Portugal. The children are small, I need them and they need me“explained the mother of Luka Jede and Amir José, to our colleagues. “I don’t eat, I don’t sleep”she then declared on the microphone of BFM TV Toulon-Var. “We are faced with a mother of two children, who have not known her for half their lives. She is desperateit’s very, very difficult for her.”according to his lawyer, Maître Avichaï Fennech.
An investigation is open
Shortly after the kidnapping of Luka Jede and Amir José, Khouloud took legal action and obtained their sole custody before the Toulon judicial court. But the father did not want to cooperate and refused to return the children to their mother. “We are in the midst of an international child abduction which is blatant. We find ourselves faced with judgments and trials that we have won. And despite this, there is a difficulty in the execution of these decisions”, added his lawyer. Having passed through Spain and Portugal, Khouloud’s ex-companion, who has been on the run for a year and a half, has changed residence several times in order to avoid the police. The juvenile brigade, seized of the case, opened an investigation, in progress. Facts that echo many stories. On June 8, 2023, it was Malek, an 8-year-old girl who was kidnapped by her father in Dunkirk before finally being found safe and sound in Italy. A little earlier, it was little Eya, aged 10, who was kidnapped by her father on May 25, 2023 in Isère. Once again, the father was trying to flee France when he was found with his daughter, safe and sound, in Denmark.
