Aberdeen: EU authorizes acquisition of Onivia

(CercleFinance.com) – The European Commission has authorized the acquisition of joint control of Pentacom Investments (Spain) Opco and Ucles InfraCo (hereafter together Onivia), both Spanish, by Arjun Infrastructure Partners, the Macquarie group and the Aberdeen Group, all from the UK.

Onivia is active in the wholesale supply of broadband access services in Spain. Aberdeen is an active asset manager in sectors such as transport, social infrastructure, waste and water treatment and clean energy generation networks.

The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise any competition concerns, since following the transaction the companies would not be active in related markets and there would be no overlap between their activities.
