Steven Tyler has achieved initial partial success in an abuse lawsuit. The court strikes out one of the charges.

Steven Tyler (75) was able to achieve partial success in court in Los Angeles in an abuse lawsuit that has been ongoing since December 2022. The plaintiff is Julia Misley, formerly Julia Holcomb, with whom the musician is said to have had a relationship in the 1970s when she was 16 years old. Now parts of the lawsuit against the rock star have been dismissed.

First partial success for Steven Tyler

According to People magazine, the court ruled that Misley’s allegations in Steven Tyler’s 2012 memoir “Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Memoir” were “intentional infliction.” “suffered by emotional distress” should be deleted from the proceedings.

Tyler, who denies all allegations, stressed about his memoir that it cannot be used to address her emotional distress in court because it is free speech and his remarks do not identify her.

However, the allegations of sexual assault and sexual assault apparently remain. The relationship between the then 16-year-old and the Aerosmith singer is said to have begun in 1973. Misley claimed in her lawsuit that she met the singer after a concert. Several illegal sexual acts are said to have taken place in a hotel room, for which she is now demanding compensation.

The relationship is said to have continued for three years afterwards. Misley stated that at the time she was “powerless” to “resist Tyler’s power, fame and considerable financial opportunity.”

The relationship reportedly went so far that Tyler was granted guardianship of the girl with the consent of Misley’s mother. The defendant “coerced and convinced her to believe” that she was having a “romantic love affair” with him. According to the allegations, he took her on tour, supplied her with drugs and forced her to have an abortion.

Steven Tyler moved for a complete dismissal following Misley’s lawsuit.
