Abuse process – Tyrolean (16) harassed elementary school students via cell phone

A 16-year-old Tyrolean had to answer to the Innsbruck Regional Court on Thursday for the abuse of minors and the pornographic depiction of minors. The two girls he harassed over Snapchat were eight and nine years old.

Specifically, in January and May last year, the Unterlander asked a nine-year-old girl via the Snapchat photo chat platform to send him a “clear” video, and he wanted the same photos from an eight-year-old. The boy’s parents had to wait outsideIt quickly became clear that the trial would take place behind closed doors. The defendant’s defense attorney applied for this quickly, even before the personal details were clarified. The parents of the 16-year-old were also waiting in front of the door of the courtroom. His client did not want “that you are present at the trial,” explained the defense attorney. After a quick questioning of the accused and a quick deliberation of the jury panel, the judge finally pronounced the verdict. In addition to five months imprisonment, subject to a probationary period of three years, the 16-year-old must pay 1,200 euros. He was also ordered to undergo supportive counseling at a club. In his reasoning for the verdict, the judge cited the “up to now orderly lifestyle” and the “remorseful confession” as mitigating factors. What was aggravating, however, was that there were multiple offenses involving multiple victims.
