Accident in Alpbach – Bub (11) injured in a crash on a summer toboggan run

An 11-year-old boy crashed his sled into a girl driving in front of him on Saturday morning on the “Lauser-Sauser” summer toboggan run in Alpbach in Tyrol. The young German was flown to the Innsbruck clinic. He suffered a contusion of his spine.

At around 10.45 a.m., the student rushed down the summer toboggan run from the Wiedersbergerhornbahn mountain station towards the valley. “Shortly before reaching the exit, the student caught up with a sled in front and collided with it,” the police said. When he got out, the boy complained of pain in his back. He was treated by the cable car paramedic and taken down to the valley. Accompanied by his mother, the young German was finally flown to the Innsbucker Clinic with the emergency doctor helicopter “Heli4” to clarify the degree of injury. “There, during the course of treatment, a contusion of the spine was discovered, whereupon the child was released into home care,” the investigators said.
