Accident near Eisenstadt – B50: Three seriously injured in a frontal crash

A head-on crash of two vehicles on the B50 near Eisenstadt late Sunday afternoon claimed three serious injuries, according to the fire department. The road was then closed for about two hours.

A station wagon and a convertible collided head-on. All three occupants were seriously injured. The Eisenstadt city fire brigade and the fire brigades from Oslip and Schützen were active at the scene. Two people had to be rescued from the completely deformed wrecks by the Florianis with their combined efforts. Only then could they be cared for by the rescue teams and doctors from the Red Cross and the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund. Two injured people had to be transported by helicopter. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. But an overtaking maneuver is suspected. As a result of the accident, the B50 had to be closed by the police for around two hours and the rail traffic running in the immediate vicinity had to be stopped.
