Accident while hiking – lower leg pierced by tree root

The hike of a 41-year-old on Wednesday in the Bürser gorge in Vorarlberg ended with a serious injury. He fell on a root and sustained an impaling injury.

The 41-year-old went on a hike through the Bürser gorge on Wednesday. As he was walking down the valley on the hiking trail, he lost his balance and fell. Unfortunately, he fell on a tree root that pierced his left lower leg, the police speak of a “stake injury”.
