Accusations of Judith Godrèche, Leïla Bekhti applauds the speaking out: “It’s violent but it’s important”

It is a speech which marked the 49th Caesar ceremony. On February 23, on the stage of the Olympia, Judith Godrèche, who accuses directors Benoît Jacquot and Jacques Doillon of rape, spoke to denounce sexist and sexual violence in the cinema industry. Absent from the event, since she was about to welcome her fourth child, this Monday, March 12, in the columns of Parisian, Leïla Bekhti reacts to the accusations of the 52-year-old actress and her shocking speech. Tahar Rahim’s wife begins, in fact, by providing her support to Dany Boon’s ex-wife: “It’s brave, I admire it and I support everything that’s happening 400%.”

Géraldine Nakache’s friend continues: “From the moment people have suffered, there are no questions to ask. I like the idea that releasing one word releases another, then another. That’s wonderful. It’s a revolution that’s happening. It’s violent, but it’s important.” Leïla Bekhti then talks about her personal experience and says she was lucky: “I started when I was 19. I was very lucky, I wasn’t confronted with people who took advantage of my vulnerability. I don’t know what I would have done if faced with someone one with a hold on me. It’s important to say that there was an old world that we no longer want, today.”

Accusations of Judith Godrèche: Anny Duperey’s mea culpa

Many personalities have given their support to Judith Godrèche since she broke her silence at the beginning of February, such as Marie Portolano, Mathieu Kassovitz and Juliette Binoche. Others, on the contrary, prefer to remain silent, like Emmanuel Macron, who never reacted to a letter sent by the 52-year-old actress. For her part, Anny Duperey attracted the wrath of many celebrities, including Alexandra Lamy, after declaring, on February 10, on RTL, that Judith Godrèche’s accusations are “extremely exaggerated”. After being ousted from the SOS Children’s Village association, the 72-year-old actress made her mea culpa on the set of the morning show Good morning !, on TF1, February 29: “I was certainly imprudent because the times mean that if we don’t say white, we automatically say black. I didn’t say black. I tried to temper, we can’t temper at the moment. I should have been more careful, more measured.
