Sylvester Stallone is the “Samaritan” – or rather he was it. The masked superhero has not been seen or heard from for 25 years. The public even assumes that the masked avenger died. So the former Samaritan lives a tranquil little private life – until his young neighbor finds out about him.
Superheroes retired or gone astray? Actually not a new idea: already in the great comic adaptation “Watchmen” there are masked avengers who have laid down their craft. The grotesque series “The Boys”, which is also running on Prime Video, examines the topic of superheroes through a politically cynical lens.
“Samaritan” with Sylvester Stallone has been available on Amazon Prime Video since August 26, 2022. Actually, the comic film should start last year – in the cinema. Now there is a pure streaming start for the superhero film.
