Drivers have often had to be patient in morning rush hour traffic. Now last generation activists have also partially blocked evening traffic in Graz.
Early on Monday evening, a few people sat down on the road on Brückenkopfgasse between Radetzkybrücke and Griesplatz. They had previously come from a demonstration in the city center via Freiheitsplatz and Opernring. This also blocked public transport on some bus lines that cross the bridge. However, the Graz Linien and the police reacted very quickly and rerouted buses on the affected lines as far as possible. Construction sites exacerbated the traffic jam situation. After about an hour and a half, the blockade was over again. However, the traffic jam situation was made worse because both Neutorgasse and the Tegetthoff Bridge to the north were closed during work to expand the tram network. A small-scale evasion was therefore not possible.
