Activision-Blizzard: The director of the company leaves the publisher to embark on NFT

SinceActivision-Blizzard is in the process of taking over with Microsoft, it’s no wonder to see a bit of mayhem and change internally. But we didn’t expect today’s news, which comes to us from Daniel Aleger, COO of the company (aka Managing Director). In a simple message on Twitter, the interested party said to set sail after two years in this position with the publisher, while radically changing sector.

From one hated company to another

No, sorry, it’s not Bobby Kotick who is packing up, but Dianel Alegre who is leaving his position at Activision-Blizzard. The reason : he will now put his time and skills at the service of the famous Web3 and the company Yuga Labswhich we know for the very popular (so to speak) NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club. He thus becomes CEO of the box, which is experiencing a major stir following the loss of value of many NFTs (especially those of stars like Justine Bieber) and multiple lawsuits that are emerging.

Funny decision, even if his days at Activision-Blizzard were undoubtedly numbered, whether the takeover was accepted or not by the regulators. Since Bobby Kotick is the only executive who could benefit from a big golden parachute when the takeover is finalized, one can understand Alegre’s initiative. Even if his destination is enough to raise some eyebrows, as the gentleman does not seem to have a hollow nose here.
