A need to breathe. Actor Andrew Garfield, Oscar nominee last March for “Tick, Tick…Boom!” expressed the wish to take a break.
While for a year, his agenda has left him little respite, the 38-year-old actor needs “rest”. Starring in the “By God’s Command” series, unveiled this Wednesday on Hulu, on the big screen late last year in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Tick, Tick…Boom!” , which earned him an Oscar nomination and the Golden Globe for Best Actor in the Musical and Comedy Film category last January, the actor seems to have left his mark on this awards tour.
“reconsider what I want to do next”
A rhythm that makes him consider breathing “for a while”, as he told Variety. “I’m going to rest a bit,” explained the actor. “I have to refocus and reconsider what I want to do next. (…) Because as you know, this awards season is a washing machine,” continued the actor, who since his debut on the big screen in 2007 alongside Meryl Streep, Robert Redford and Tom Cruise in “Lions and Lambs” by Robert Redford, multiplies large-scale projects.
“I just need to be a little ordinary for a while,” said Andrew Garfield, who between 2012 and 2021 played Spider-man on screen three times. After fifteen years of career, the artist nominated for the Baftas in 2011 for “The social network” by David Fincher, then for the Oscars and the Golden Globes in 2017 with “You will not kill” by Mel Gibson, therefore seems to want to leave the time before considering the future.
