Actor Tom Wilkinson, Seen in ‘The Full Monty’ and ‘Michael Clayton,’ Dies

British actor Tom Wilkinson, noted for his roles in The Full Monty And Michael Clayton, died on Saturday, December 30, at his home, his family announced through his agent. He was 75 years old.

Nominated for an Oscar for best actor in Todd Field’s family drama In the Bedroom in 2001, then in the category of best supporting role for his acting in Michael Clayton by Tony Gilroy, 2007 film with George Clooney, Tom Wilkinson also made an impression by playing Gerald Cooper, former foreman of a steelworks in The Full Monty. In 1997, this social comedy told the improbable story of a group of unemployed workers forming a male striptease act.

Tom Wilkinson has starred in dozens of other films, including Batman Begins, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind And Valkyrie. His entire career earned him a Member of the Order of the British Empire in 2005.
