Acts of vandalism in Tyrol – Marterl destroyed: teenagers tore Jesus from the cross

Previously unknown perpetrators made a tasteless joke on Friday night in Kramsach in the Tyrolean district of Kufstein: They demolished a marterl and, among other things, seriously damaged a statue of Jesus. Vandals were also active in the Tyrolean Oberland.

According to the police, one or more young people are probably responsible for the crime in Kramsach. They struck between 7 p.m. on Thursday and 8 a.m. on Friday during a martyr at the access road from Badl to the cycle path. There they tore a wooden figure of Jesus from the cross, broke off both of the figure’s arms and tore flowers planted around the marter from the troughs. The unknown strangers also sprayed “obscene writing” in black paint on a wooden bench 200 meters away, the police said. It is currently unclear how much damage the unknown people caused. The investigators assume that the act of vandalism is connected to property damage to several ticket machines at the train stations in Rattenberg and Brixlegg. Witnesses who can provide information about the perpetrators are asked to contact the Kramsach police station (059133 7213).Sprayer caught with stolen goods and drugs in Imst In another case of property damage, the police were able to catch the two suspected perpetrators fairly quickly: On Friday afternoon, a 19-year-old and a 25-year-old sprayed graffiti on the motorway bridge at the motorway exit in Imst. A police patrol was able to arrest the two Austrians shortly afterwards. In the suspect’s car, officers found stolen jewelry of low value, a small amount of cannabis, drug paraphernalia and spray cans. They were shown.
