Honest, natural, up close – in the video by YouTuberin Nikkie Tutorials, singer Adele shows herself at her best.
“I can’t believe this is happening. I’ve been dreaming of this day for years,” announced YouTuber Nikkie de Jager, 27, better known as “Nikkie Tutorials” on social media, her latest video. Sitting next to her is none other than singer Adele, 33. Without make-up and super natural – and from this side she shows herself for the next 30 minutes in the video while the two drink a glass of wine.

In the video format “The Power of Make Up”, Nikkie only ever makes up one side of her face – the other remains naked and without make-up. She does the same with Adele. During the beauty session, Adele reveals some details from her own routine.
At the beginning of the video, Adele admits that she doesn’t wear makeup every day. “I’m not good at doing my own makeup. I can’t use eyeliner,” explains the singer. Their winged liner is almost iconic. Even when she applied lip liner, she kept desperate.
Her new album “30” is also discussed. According to Adele, it is about turning your own life 180 degrees, getting to know yourself. “When I look at you, I always think you’re a confident queen who knows exactly what she wants to do,” says Nikkie in surprise. Adele was always self-confident, but she always invested a lot of time in her work and not in her “personal stuff”.
“I look like Voldemord”
For the deluxe version of her album, Adele recorded the song “Easy on me” with country singer Chris Stapleton. “He’s the most impressive country singer,” says the singer. She always wanted to work with him.
Adele also reveals that she no longer plays any instruments: “I love my fingernails too much,” she says with a smile and holds her long, artificial nails with Leo pattern into the camera. “I used to play guitar and always had to take off my fingernails for the tour.”
Nice eyebrows and fingernails – and you’re done.
“If I don’t dye my eyebrows, I look like Voldemord,” jokes the singer. During the pandemic, she finally learned how to dye it herself.
As the video progresses, Nikkie asks a question that no one has asked her before: “What’s the biggest misconception about being famous?” “Everything is glamorous on stage, but behind this door it’s not all that at all. It’s just a show,” reveals Adele.
Just because you have a successful career doesn’t mean your life is successful.
What the singer misses most is that she can’t just do what she wants – without being followed by paparazzi. “I love shopping for groceries, but I don’t like to be photographed,” says Adele. It is nice to be asked things that are so obvious.
Fangirl moments for both of you
Just recently, Adele was interviewed by Oprah – a big moment for her, as she reports in the video. After all, Nikkie Tutorials fulfilled her wish with this video – to put on Adele’s make-up once in her life.
