Adele: She's celebrating her comeback on TV

Adele is celebrating her comeback: She appears on the show "Saturday Night Live" as the hostess. Will she also announce a new album?

Adele (32) is celebrating her comeback! The singer will be the hostess on stage in the well-known US comedy show "Saturday Night Live". She was "so excited and absolutely scared," she said on Instagram: "My very first host gig and for SNL of all places!" She always wanted to do that, the 32-year-old continued, but so far it has never been the right time. But there could not be a more perfect time than the end of 2020 to "jump headlong into the depths with your eyes closed and hope for the best".

It was almost exactly twelve years ago, according to the singer, that she appeared on the show for the first time, "during an election". That helped her breakthrough in America, "so it comes full circle and I just couldn't possibly say no". Adele will be on "SNL" on October 24th, and it will be her first public appearance in three years. In November 2015 she was already on the show as a musical guest, and on the eve of the presidential elections, she performed there for the first time in 2008.

Is there new music coming?

The singer reportedly had planned to release a new album in 2020. Because of the corona pandemic, she probably had to postpone this for the time being. After the announcement of the "SNL" gig, there is now again speculation whether the pop star will soon be releasing new music. Most recently, Adele hadn't made the headlines because of her voice. The singer is said to have lost over 50 pounds. On Instagram, she already showed pictures that show her weight loss.

So now Adele will be on stage again. The singer has not released any new music since the release of her third album, "25", in 2015 and has made almost no major public appearance since her 2016 tour. In April 2019, after two years of marriage, she announced the separation from husband Simon Konecki (46). She has an eight-year-old son with him.
