Adventurer Anja Blacha first woman solo at the South Pole

Up until ten years ago, Anja Blacha had never slept in a tent – and from the end of 2019 she was alone in Antarctica for two months. Is she escaping reality? The German, who lives in Zurich, says: “Perhaps we are more in the ice in reality than in everyday life”.

“It’s getting colder the closer you get to the South Pole, and the harder the snow gets, the greater the friction, at some point it’s like walking on sandpaper”: Anja Blacha on her two-month expedition.
