Lauterbach demands masking in discos
Lots of people dancing and partying in a small space – discos can be a real risk place in the pandemic. SPD health politician Lauterbach therefore urges stricter measures. This includes masks on the dance floor and mobile vaccination teams before the party.
The SPD health politician Karl Lauterbach has called for strict measures in view of the Corona cases in discotheques. “At the moment we have not yet achieved herd immunity, so I advise you to continue to be careful,” Lauterbach told the editorial network in Germany. That also means: “Visiting the discotheque only for people who have been vaccinated, recovered or tested and only with a mask.”
In addition, mobile teams can be vaccinated against corona in the party miles. “In order to keep the vaccination rate high, we have to make people comfortable.” The tolerability of the vaccinations in children and adolescents is good, but the risk of long-term corona consequences is underestimated. Lauterbach called for quick decisions as to which easing should be withdrawn.
He also supported efforts to bring forward the Prime Minister’s Conference on the Corona situation with Chancellor Angela Merkel: “The sooner the Prime Minister’s Round meets, the better. We’ll probably find ourselves in a situation of high case numbers and three-digit incidences before the federal elections We are also not that deeply involved in the election campaign. “
Meanwhile, the chairman of the health committee in the Bundestag, Erwin Rüddel, told the RND: “We as a society must find a way to deal with the virus. A fourth wave does not have to lead to another lockdown if we deal responsibly with the degrees of freedom.” Due to the increasing number of people vaccinated, a higher incidence can be accepted without overloading the hospitals: “An incidence of 200 is the new 50.”
