After a heart attack – man (56) died on a ski tour in Saalfelden

Mountain rescuers were only able to rescue a man from Saalfelden on Thursday evening who was still dead. The 56-year-old was reported missing when he didn’t come home from a ski tour.

Around midday the local went on a short ski tour to the Frauenbründl in the Sausteige area in Saalfelden. The 56-year-old, who is considered reliable, was still not home that afternoon. His sister therefore reported him missing. The dog handler found the 56-year-old. The Saalfelden mountain rescue service immediately initiated a search operation. One of their dog handlers found the missing man around 8:30 p.m. The rescuers brought the man from Saalfelden into the valley. A doctor there could only confirm that the 56-year-old was dead. According to the mountain rescue, the cause of death was a heart attack. 20 men and women from the Saalfelden/Maria Alm mountain rescue center, three mountain rescue dog handlers, four alpine police officers, two drone pilots from the fire department and police, the volunteer fire department (Harham) and the Pinzgau disaster officer were involved in the rescue.
