Armie Hammer can breathe easy. After serious allegations of abuse, it is now clear that no charges will be brought against the US actor.

No charges have been brought against US actor Armie Hammer (36) after allegations of sexual abuse. The case has been thoroughly reviewed, as has the Los Angeles County State Office according to several US media announced on Wednesday. There wasn’t enough evidence to charge the ‘The Social Network’ and ‘Gossip Girl’ actor.

In early 2021, multiple allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse were made against Hammer. He himself vehemently denied this, claiming that all of the encounters in question were consensual. In an interview last February, in which Hammer broke his silence for the first time after the serious allegations, he explained that he had “used” women. His lifestyle at the time was “intense” and “extreme,” a “whirlwind of travel and sex and drugs and big emotions.” Hammer told Air Maila digital newsletter.

Armie Hammer is ‘grateful’

Hammer made another statement on Instagram, in which he expresses his relief: “I am very grateful to the district attorney for conducting a thorough investigation and concluding that I stood my ground throughout and that no crime was committed.” He now looks forward to “putting his life back in order” after his name has been cleared. Finally, he thanks everyone who helped him “to get through this time”.

Armie Hammer divorced his wife in the summer of 2020 after ten years. Two children emerged from the relationship. Six months later, serious allegations of physical and psychological abuse against him became public. The actor then lost his agency and several film projects.
