The Radeon RX 7000s are no longer the only ones graphics cards to take advantage of updates from AMD. It was high time.
Without giving any further explanation on the why and how of such a lag, the Radeon RX 6000 and RX 7000 are now united by the same graphics drivers… as NVIDIA has always done.
600 MB for v23.2.1
Since the release of the Radeon RX 7900 XT and 7900 XTX, it was quite surprising to find that AMD no longer offered any updates to its graphics drivers for the entire Radeon RX 6000 generation.
Of course, we understand that the attention is more largely turned towards the new models, but the exits of video games did not stop, and the various problems had not all been solved. AMD finally seems to have taken the measure of the problem with the launch of Adrenalin v23.2.1.
A set of graphic drivers of almost 600 MB can be downloaded from AMD’s site. It concerns both Windows 10 and Windows 11, and the Radeon RX 7000 as well as the RX 6000 models.
Up to +19% performance on F1 22
Better still, these 23.2.1 drivers also provide support for the Radeon RX 5000, the RX Vega as well as the RX 400 and 500. As often, there is talk of support for the latest games released such as Forspoken And dead space.
Of course, new pilots would be nothing without these frame-per-second gains. AMD, for example, mentions an increase of at most 19% in performance over F1 225% on Sniper Elite 59% on DOOM Eternal or 4% on Marvel’s Spider-Man Remasteredall 4K on a Radeon RX 6950 XT against v22.11.2 drivers.
AMD also emphasizes the integration of various features related to streaming and hitherto reserved for the Radeon RX 7900. It specifies that the AMD Link has been updated and that bugs in Fortnite Or Sea of Thieves have been corrected, but there are still issues with Hogwarts Legacy. Its teams are at work with the development studio.
