The recommendations are the result of civil defense checks on Saturday. According to the Valais authorities, emergency services have started to clear residues.
As a precautionary measure, the ban on grazing remains in place. Likewise, the ban on harvesting fruit, vegetables, animal feed and arable crops in the affected zone.
The burned building was covered with solar panels containing potentially toxic substances, the combustion residues of which were carried to Brämis with the smoke. According to the State Council, these combustion residues are sharp-edged and deadly for animals that would eat them. The forbidden zone stretches between Vétroz and the dam of the Lienne, which flows through Brämis.
No injuries in the fire
Early on Saturday morning, the federal portal Alertswiss lifted its warning about the major fire that broke out on Thursday afternoon. There were no injuries in the fire. The fire in the industrial hall in Vétroz broke out after 5 p.m. on Thursday. The column of smoke was visible from afar. The cloud of smoke spread in the direction of Upper Valais.
