After cardiac arrest – three “guardian angels” brought men back to life

That Franz Redl can celebrate Christmas with his girlfriend Petra and the two little sons in Neustadtl an der Donau this year is thanks to three special “guardian angels”: Nina Dietrich, Isabella Mitteregger and Manuel Schartmüller saved his life.

The mechanic suddenly collapsed almost three weeks ago at his workplace near Viehdorf in the Lower Austrian district of Amstetten – cardiac arrest. Work colleague Manuel Schartmüller reacted immediately, dialed the emergency number 144 and had Nina Dietrich on the phone. The experienced call taker and area dispatcher Isabella Mitteregger guided the caller calmly and prudently through all the necessary resuscitation measures. At the same time, a rescue team was dispatched to the scene. Lifesaver met On December 11, Redl was able to leave the hospital again, hugging friend Petra and his sons, three-year-old Raphael and 17-month-old Sebastian, again. On Thursday he met his three lifeguards: “I owe it to them that I can experience Christmas with my loved ones today.”
