The next game from the studio behind Days Gone may not be to everyone’s taste because of a very specific element that has just been spotted on the Web.
Days Gone, even if it was not unanimously acclaimed, remains a rather interesting open world game. In any case, we understood that a sequel would not have been refused, just to correct the flaws of its predecessor. Unfortunately, it’s a dream that won’t come true. However, the studio which offered us this adventure is working on a new title, and we have just heard from it thanks to a job offer. On the other hand, what we have learned may perhaps upset more than one person.
After Days Gone, Bend Studio is tackling a AAA-style service game
We therefore notice that the firm is looking for a Lead Project Manager with “experience in leading AAA game development services”. We are even entitled to some details on this subject. Indeed, it requires someone who knows something about “the redefinition of a traditional game development studio towards a studio focused on the development of game services”. Obviously, we are going to move away from a Days Gone towards a AAA with a game service flavor. And we know, it doesn’t work for all players.
At the same time, are we really surprised? After all, Sony now has its sights set on the games services model. And since Bend Studio has been owned by him since 2000, it’s a bit of a logical progression. That said, there is no point in publicly crucifying this game based on this simple observation. Of course, this information will not please everyone. However, it is better to wait for the first images before giving an opinion on anything.
As for this famous game, we don’t know much about it. It was unveiled in June 2022, and we were confirmed that it was a new IP. We still had some juicy details to sink our teeth into, instead of a trailer. Already, this title will include multiplayer. It is also built on the foundations of the open world system of Days Gone. But this is not the second opus. To compensate, there is a live action adaptation that is in the pipeline. For the moment, the film is very discreet, but we can’t wait to have a first trailer.
