After just a week in League of Legends, Renata is getting a well-deserved hotfix

Renata Glasc arrived in League of Legends a week ago now, but this new support proved to be slightly too strong for the game’s current meta, so Riot Games decided tonight to release a hotfix for the champion.

Renata arrived in League of Legends last Thursdayalongside from patch 12.4which also served to achieve many balances. Upon release, however, Renata has proven to be too strong for the game’s current ecosystem. Riot Games has therefore decided to react as quickly as possible, by posting a champion hotfix overnight from Tuesday to today.

In barely a week, Renata already has a 52% winrate at Platinum level and above. According to a Rioter, Blake “Squad5” Smiththe character has only just been released, so players don’t know him very well yet and this winrate would have only increased in the days to come if no changes had been made. The hotfix is therefore intended to stem this phenomenon before Renata causes too much trouble in Summoner’s Rift. If these nerfs aren’t enough, new ones should arrive within patch 12.5. So these are his passive and his W who are nerfed during this hotfix, they who had already been nerfed on the PBE before its official release. Now all that remains is to see how Renata will impact the sports scene of League of Legends.
