The unrest in Iran threatens to worsen. After massive protests in the past few days, the Iranian army is now signaling that it will crack down on the demonstrators. The military will “stand up to the enemy,” she said. He wanted to “weaken the Islamic Republic,” according to the army.
The stumbling block for the unrest was the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini. She was arrested by the Iranian vice squad. She was accused of violating the strict Islamic dress code. Amini later died in a hospital in the capital Tehran.
Olaf Scholz: Women must be able to live independently
While the Kurdish human rights group Hengaw reports 15 dead and over 700 injured, the Iranian government has organized demonstrations to show that people support the regime’s actions.
