After rockfall – cat family and owner are looking for a new home

13 cats are looking for a new home, actually their owners. Because Annemarie and Markus Huemer don’t want to give up their house tigers. But the two and their sons have no place to stay, because they lived in one of those houses that are no longer habitable after a rock fall.

It was a huge rumble that completely upset the lives of Markus (48) and Annemarie Huemer (52) and their two sons. The rumble was the rockfall on February 8th in Steyr, in which two excavator drivers lost their lives. But the Huemers have also lost something, namely their house in which they lived as tenants. Homeless overnight This is no longer livable, it would be far too dangerous. She and other affected people were informed about this in a conversation last Wednesday – we reported. “We became homeless practically overnight,” says Markus Huemer. But this turns out to be very difficult. The reason: The family takes care of 13 cats, all cats that need a garden. “Of course, a house would be best again, but that’s not so easy in Steyr,” says Huemer. You have already asked the cooperatives, but the cats are a problem. Now Markus Huemer has also posted a call for help on Facebook, where he is looking for a new place to stay. But the Huemers still have hope; Mayor Markus Vogl (SPÖ) had already promised the family his support in the search for a new “paradise”.
