After Samsung, Honor is preparing its own competitor to the Galaxy Ring

On the occasion of MWC 2024, Honor confirmed with our colleagues at CNBC that a competitor to the Galaxy Ring is being prepared in its offices. The manufacturer’s CEO said that the project aims to connect the ring to its own health application, coating everything with artificial intelligence to generate training programs.

This Monday, February 26, Samsung took advantage of the opening of MWC 2024 in Barcelona to officially lift the veil on its Galaxy Ring, its brand new connected ring. Phonandroid was able to take a look at this one which, despite the fact that we were not able to touch it, did not fail to impress us. We are therefore not really surprised to see that the competition is now rushing to offer its own connected ring.

Apple was the first to draw the line, via a report from ETNews which claims that a release date will be announced soon. Today, it’s Honor’s turn to join the dance. In an interview with our colleagues at CNCB, its CEO George Zhao confirmed that the manufacturer has already joined the race for the connected ring. Without risking giving too much information, and certainly not a release window.

Honor could soon present its own version of the Galaxy Ring

“Internally we have this type of solution and we are currently working on this part, so you can get an Honor ring soon”, George Zhao said. In terms of operation, we should expect something very similar to the Galaxy Ring, namely a ring focusing primarily on collecting health data, which will then be analyzed and summarized by a dedicated smartphone application.

“This device will work with AI-based applications (and) can help you tailor your professional workouts to your needs by studying your habits and health data to give you suggestions,” continues the CEO before concluding: “I think AI will transform these types of applications.”
