At RTL, presenter Elton found a new TV home after “Schlag den Star” ended. But there should be a change there too.
The news that presenter Elton (53) will no longer host the ProSieben show “Schlag den Star” made waves last week. At the direct competitor RTL, Stefan Raab’s (57) former TV intern can recover from this shock. But there also seems to be a big change there that is directly related to Elton and one of his formats. That’s what she reports “Bild” newspaper that the show “Blamieren oder Kassieren”, hosted by Elton, will be cancelled.
What are the reasons?
Regarding the reasons for this, a spokesman for the station is quoted as saying: “‘Blamieren oder Kassieren’ had a strong start to the season, but was unable to maintain its market share throughout.” Instead, they now want to focus on other great projects with Elton [konzentrieren]including ‘Three against One’ and ‘The RTL EM Studio – All games, goals, emotions’.” The already recorded episode of “‘Blamieren oder Kassieren'”, which will be shown in prime time next Thursday (April 18th), is therefore the last one for now.
“Blamieren oder Kassieren”, which initially began as a small segment on Raab’s program “TV Total” and blossomed into an independent show, only landed on RTL last year. Now, however, other shows starring Elton appear to be taking priority, at least for now. In addition to the aforementioned “Three against One” and the “RTL EM Studio”, this is above all the “Schlag den Besten” format, which also recently moved from ProSieben to RTL and is still presented by Elton.
Out after 13 years
Last week, ProSieben announced that Matthias Opdenhövel (53) would be the presenter of “Schlag den Star” instead of Elton. The person who was shot had a short time later on his official Instagram account expressed his disappointment about it and emphasized that he did not submit “this wonderful broadcast voluntarily”.
